Import companies from a CSV file

Use the company importer for multiple issuers. Check the current workspace and existing company list first.

Prepare the columns

Required fields:

  • Company Name

  • Company Symbol

  • Public/Private

Optional fields include FMV, Equity Platform 1, Equity Platform 2, Transfer Agent, and QSBS Date.

The CSV requires a symbol, including for a private company. Use a consistent identifier and check that it does not already exist in the workspace. Symbols are normalized to uppercase. FMV is optional for import, but missing price information can limit useful projections.

Import

  1. Open Import and choose the CSV workflow.

  2. Select Company.

  3. Upload the CSV and map its columns.

  4. Resolve validation errors, including missing required values and existing symbols.

  5. Review and confirm the import.

  6. Check Import History and open the imported companies.

Verify the records

Review public/private status, identifiers, prices, and dates. Complete growth, volatility, valuation, and trading-window assumptions as appropriate in the company record.

Do not treat a QSBS date as a determination of tax eligibility. Confirm the relevant facts separately.

Then import clients and equity as needed. Keep company identifiers consistent across the files so the importer can match the intended records.
