CSV import is useful when you have structured grant, vesting, or transaction records. For PDFs and supported documents, see AI equity import.
Before you import
Create the relevant clients and companies. Reconcile the source records and use consistent grant identifiers. A grant nickname or identifier should refer to the same award throughout the file.
Map and review
Open Import and choose the CSV workflow.
Select Equity.
Use Download sample CSV for the current template, then upload your CSV or TSV (up to 20 MB).
Map the required columns: Company Symbol, Email, Equity Type, Event Type, Grant, Grant Date, Event Date, Quantity, and Double Trigger.
Map optional fields where applicable: Expiration Date, Exercise Price, FMV, Exercise Lot, Vest Lot, and Sale Lot. Review every validation message.
Correct all mismatches before confirming the import.
Review client and company matches carefully. Do not interpret a successful column mapping as proof that a transaction belongs to the intended grant.
The importer warns that exercises and sales are assigned on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis. If the client used different lots, review and correct the vest, exercise, and sale lot connections.
Reimports and corrections
Matching behavior depends on the client, company, grant identifier, and record type. Do not assume every reimport safely replaces the earlier data. Review the preview and Import History, and compare existing quantities before rerunning a file containing activity already imported.
For a correction to an existing grant or action, use the relevant edit workflow or contact support if you cannot determine whether the import will create or update it.
Verify the result
Open Import History, then the client's Equity tab. Reconcile grant quantities, vest dates, held shares, exercises, sales, and withholding with the source records. Review a representative grant's detailed schedule.
Only move on to trading plans and tax comparisons after the totals reconcile.
