Company information supplies the issuer, price, and assumptions used by client equity records and projections.
Add or find the company
Open Companies.
Search the existing list before adding a duplicate.
Select Create.
Select the public or private company workflow and complete the company name and symbol information.
Review the current price: the form distinguishes Current FMV from Current 409a for private companies.
Save and open the company to review the result.
For public companies, verify the company returned by the lookup. For private companies, review the generated or entered symbol and the actual valuation information; a private-company symbol is an identifier, not evidence of an exchange listing.
Review assumptions before planning
Check growth, standard deviation, equity platform, transfer agent, applicable trading windows, and any QSBS information you enter. Do not interpret a QSBS field as independent verification that a transaction qualifies.
The client Profile can show stock assumptions inherited from the company. Review the effective client assumptions when an individual client's projections differ from expectations.
When a company becomes public or a price changes
Review the company's status and price information before rebuilding plans or reports. Retain the correct historical transaction prices; a current price update is not a reason to replace actual historical FMV indiscriminately.
For multiple companies, follow Import company data. Then add client equity and review plan comparisons.
