Use the client importer to add multiple client records to the current workspace.
Prepare the file
Required fields are First Name, Last Name, and Email. Email must be valid and must not duplicate an existing active client in the workspace.
Optional fields include Company, Company Start Date, Company End Date, State, State Start Date, and State End Date. Company is optional. If you include it, first create or import the company so it can be matched.
Use explicit, consistent dates such as 2026-09-23. Leave an unknown optional date blank rather than inventing a historical date.
Import and review
Open Import and choose the CSV workflow.
Select the Client tab.
Upload the CSV and map each column to the intended field.
Review validation errors and correct the file or mapped values.
Confirm the import when the preview is correct.
Review the result and Import History, then open representative client records.
Check client count, names, email addresses, company matches, and dated history. Do not assume a duplicate-email warning means the existing client has been updated.
Common issues
Company not matched: verify its symbol/name and that it exists in this workspace.
Duplicate client: search Clients before rerunning the row.
Date error: use an unambiguous date and verify start/end order.
Wrong workspace: stop and switch workspaces before importing.
Next, complete Profile, income, and tax inputs, then import equity.
